Our History

Kiku Floral was founded in September of 1983 by Larry and Lorrie Yamada in the Chinatown district of Fresno California. During the early years the original shop was run by Larry and the deliveries were made by Uncle Tad Yamada. In 1988 the store was expanded and Larry’s father Sab Yamada retired and joined Tad in delivering. In 1995 another expansion added more design and display area. In 2001 Kiku Floral II opened in Fresno’s Tower District selling flowers, plants and unique fine Japanese giftware. In February of 2004 after 21years in Chinatown, Kiku Floral moved to their new store in The Tower at Convention Center Court. A beautiful new 11 story building in Fresno’s new and vibrant area of downtown Fresno.

Kiku Floral is a full service florist who has created a niche for itself by using only the freshest products combined with unique designs and incomparable service.

Kiku Floral carries a large selection of fresh flowers from around the world always displayed in the showroom or outside and not in the cooler for our customers to touch, feel and smell their wonderful fragrance. They also carry an extensive line of fine Japanese giftware in addition to hand picked green and blooming plants. Newly added jewelry is a very popular gift idea for our tremendous amount of walk in customers. Our fleet of 4 delivery vans are available for delivery in town or worldwide with Teleflora.

The shop is open Monday thru Thursday 8:00 - 5:00,
Friday 8:00 - 6:00 and Saturday 8:00 until 1:00.

Our Location and Hours



Kiku Floral is located at 855 M Street Suite 190. We are in the new Tower at Convention Center Court a new 11 story skyscraper gracing Fresno’s vibrant new downtown.

Our business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Fridays and 8:00am to 1:00 pm on Saturdays. Please call for holiday hours.

Kiku Floral is also known for it’s wonderful array of unique gift ideas of fine Japanese giftware. We feature high quality tea sets, wall hangings, pictures, candles, meditative music CD’s, and statues such as the ceramic dragon snake pictured above.

Looking for fresh flowers? Look no further than outside our doors for the freshest blooms arriving daily from Hawaii, New Zealand, South America, Holland and the rest of the world. We pride ourselves in selling only the best and unusual blossoms such as banksia, ginger, heliconia, anthuriums, hydrangeas, tuberoses, peonies and a variety of orchids that are added to our daily price list.

How to place an Order

There are three ways to place an order with Kiku Floral:


1. Order by On-line Forms: When you browse the on-line catalog, an order button will appear next to each thumbnail picture of an arrangement. Clicking on the button will take you to a form that contains instructions.

2. Order by Telephone: Once you have decided upon an arrangement from the on-line catalog, simply make a note of the catalog number and name of the arrangement and call (559)-266-5480, or to avoid long distance charges, 1-800-633-5585 (except outside the U.S.)

3. Orders by Fax: Once you have completed the on-line order form in item number one above, print the order on your printer, or fax modem, and fax to (559)-266-0649.

Special Orders

Please call us for all special orders and special modifications to arrangements. Special arrangements are not available in our on-line shopping areas.

All Orders

Seasonal and regional conditions affect the supply of flowers and plants. Specific varieties of colors may not always be available or meet our quality standards. Substitutions may be necessary to fulfill your floral and container requirements.

Secure Ordering

All of our transactions use our secure server, which utilizes a secure socket layer, along with Netscape and Microsoft Internet Explorer encryption technology to protect your personal information. If you do not wish to transmit your credit card information over the internet, then please call or fax us.


Same-Day Delivery in U.S. and Canada

In the U.S. and Canada, same-day delivery is generally available Monday through Friday on orders received before 12:00 noon and Saturday before 10:00 a.m., both in the recipient's time zone (excluding holidays and peak floral delivery periods) and locally. All orders placed after 12:00 noon will be delivered the following day. If you have any doubt as to when you think your order will be delivered, please contact us.

Peak Floral Delivery Periods

At peak floral delivery periods, such as Valentine's and Mother's Day, please order at least two days in advance to ensure timely delivery.

Sundays and Legal Holidays

Delivery service is NOT available in most areas on Sunday or legal holidays. Items requested for these times must be delivered the day before or day after the date requested.

Requests for AM or PM Delivery

The standard delivery charge of $12.50 will have your order delivered by 5:00pm of that day. Requests for Am or PM deliveries will honored if regular schedule permits. For orders requiring a certain time or a definite AM or PM delivery time there will be an additional charge. Please note however, that in some cases delivery may not be possible within the specific time constraints requested due to circumstances beyond our control.

I am not quite sure where to begin. My mom’s name is Catherine Lum. She passed away on January 10th of this year. I think you remember her.

She was a beautiful woman who loved my family and I unconditionally and never asked for anything in return.

The floral sprays and wreaths were so important to us and they turned out to be more beautiful than we imagined. Thank you for taking the time to find the mums she loved so much, despite the shortage of mums available to you.

Thank you for finding and including peonies in my wreath. The peonies were especially meaningful to me, as the Chinese name my parents gave to my eldest daughter means “beautiful peony.” I understand why my mom always loved your florist shop. Your attention to detail and personal service is incomparable.

The most trying part at this time is watching my dad suffer through his loneliness. It has been difficult living without my mom, but having the support of so many family members and friends helps us get through each day. On behalf of the Steven Lum family, thank you for all your help and support.
